When we first moved to Potters Bar it was hard to find a great party venue but, in the past few years a few amazing places have opened.Being so close to home, I can respond to a call for an emergency party photographer and be snapping within minutes of loading my kit into the car

Nolita Italian Party venue

Nolita is the sister restaurant of Little Italy and the famous Bar Italia in Soho. Serving fine Italian food and, during the Summer months, dining can be al fresco on Nolita’s terrace. This is an amazing party venue where it’s possible to hire the entire first floor complete with dance floor and bar.

Just along the road is the recently revamped Brookmans Park Restaurant, Bradmore Green, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL9 7QW. For sexy New-York-style dining in Herfordshire this slick restaurant boasting a bespoke floor to ceiling glass sommelier wall, gold drapes, black Italian chandeliers and leather banquettes. Brookmans Park has already attracted the attentions of the socialising elite – hosting the England footballer Jermaine Defoe’s engagement party. This trendy up-market party venue will, I’m sure, be a great hit in the years to come and my wireless big screen will match the decor.

For lovers of indian cuisine the Bengal Paradise, 3, Great North Rd, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL9 6LB is a deceptively large venue seating 120 and with a huge car park. This is a great party venue  formerly the Villa Rosa.

When Ashley Wilde Group launched the Kylie At Home range of bedding, I was asked to take photos of the day’s events. At the end of the day I was taking corporate photos of Kylie with the guests of Ashley Wilde in Kylie’s dressing room. This was an amazing day and a party shoot I won’t forget in a long time.

I’ve known Alex and his family since he was knee high to a drum stick - da boy’s got rhythm! Paul Moody, a rock’n'roll journalist from London said of Alex “After I’d found Dave Clarke and his Warhol-style studio, I was lucky enough to work with ace drummer Alex Toff.” Alex has toured and played with artistes such as Rick Parfitt Jnr, Jack MacManus, Audrey Nugent, Rachid Taha. Alex featured on the I Know You’re Married But I’ve Got Feelings Too album by Martha Wainwright and earlier this year attended the 5th UK Artist Session at the London Hard Rock Café in March 2008. The N20 Rerstaurant and Private Function venue is an impressive building and home to both a restaurant and party function room. They offer a dedicated events co-ordinator who will be on hand any time to arrange anything from Table Plans to Live Acts and, of course, party photographers For bookings and more information, contact Julian Marshall at North London’s premier dining establishment. They organise great Christmas Parties and, they’re open on Xmas day!

Upstairs or downstairs, N20 is a great party venue for private or corporate functions.

This might not be the most glamourous photo of Jilly Johnson … but I love it! I took this at an Ashley Wilde Group Christmas Party held at the Nolita restaurant in Brookmans Park. Back in the 80s, Jilly and Nina Carter (ex-wife of Rick Wakeman) formed a girl group called Blonde on Blonde but most baby boomers will remember her as the first Page 3 girl.
